Well Hello There!

Hi! It's Melissa here, i don't even know if there are any of you still tuning into our blog, and i apologize for not updating more often, but we don't want to bore you. Take no news, as good news!
These past weeks have been filled with Colin getting more and more involved with the recruit class here in the city, training and refreshing himself, in preparation to return sometime this spring! I can't believe we're on day 87 post transplant! It's gone incredibly fast, and we haven't stopped learning, but the choas has slowed, so we've been able to take time to rest as a family. Our boys keep us on our toes and we're constantly laughing at the things they get into together!
Last week, Colin and i were asked to share our story at the "connection", a city-wide college and career group here in Medicine Hat. It was still difficult as our emotions are still fresh, but they were healing tears, and God used the discussion and questions that were asked, as a little mini counselling session. There were things brought up that Colin and i hadn't thought of, or talked about yet, so it was also healing to voice those unspoken aspects of what we went through!
This past weekend, Colin actually played in our camp fundraiser floor hockey tourney! Crazy guy just can't stay away from anything normal! haha...he did awesome and i think he had a great time! He was surprised he wasn't as sore as thought, so that was an added bonus!
i'm proud to report that Keegan and Corban are now settled back into our Sunday School and Wednesday morning BibleStudy classes, so now, we are actually able to have fun, each in our own areas at the church.....i thought it would take longer, so i'm really glad we can feel that kind of normal again as well!
Other than this, we are just taking things one day at a time, we're good, and it feels good to say that! Anyways, i should go play some Wii with Corban, i'll make sure we report when more news comes up!

HI Everyone,

Since our last entry a week ago, not too much has changed. Things are getting better for me physically and I am feeling stronger everyday. I have been working out at the police station recently because there are more weights and more equipment to utilize there then what we have here at home. My weight is steadily increasing too, I am back around the 170 lbs mark again. I hope to be close to 180 lbs before I return to work.

This Sunday was a great day for Melissa and I. Keegan actually stayed in his Sunday school class, so we were able to enjoy our first church service in a very long time! It was almost overwhelming for us and singing some of the songs I had new perspective on the words and what they actually meant. Hopefully Keegan continues to go to Sunday school good so we can keep enjoying worship and hearing great sermons.

I don't have another appointment until Feb 17, but I am expecting my counts to be up some more and everything to keep going good. Take care everyone and make sure you do something special for your spouse, significant other or someone you love this Valentines Day.

Home to Stay!

So.....Today Colin has just finished his LAST CALGARY DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT!!!!!! They are now doing all the follow-up and all the Ct scans and everything from Medicine Hat! Colin recieved the official word that he is now 100% in remission and there is no sign of any cancer from his latest CT scan! Praise God!
You have no idea how awesome this is to hear so soon after the dust has settled for us! We are SO excited about being able to have Colin's care be here in Medicine Hat! IT's just so much more convenient and less exhausting for him!
Back in November, when Colin went into the Medicine Hat Hospital for the infection he had in his intestines....the CT scans were showing some sort of growth or abscese....they tossed around the idea that it could be a possible "mass" which meant something to do with the cancer, but they were telling us there was no cause for concern.....well we are happy to report, that there is no such mass anywhere in his intestines.....EVERYTHING IS FREE AND CLEAR OF CANCER!

For now, i'm marveling in God's Grace and His powerful protection and healing in Colin's life! Today is a happy day! We have SO much to be SO thankful for!
Thank you again for all your prayers and support...being at church yesturday and getting so many hugs and encouraging words, means SO much! It's good to be home surrounded by our friends and family!

ps. I forgot to mention that last week Colin celebrated a birthday....those days take on a whole new meaning when we look at what we've come through! The simplicity of life is such a sweet thing these days! i'll make sure i post more as we go;)
